Hello!

We’re pleased that we will be engaging in another five years as a federally funded DeafBlind project, and also have continued collaboration with OSPI and ESIT to further statewide supports and training.

What are the goals of the WA DeafBlind Program in Washington State? https://deafblindprogram.wa.gov/2023/08/17/five-year-grant-awarded/

Highlights from the OSEP Director’s Meeting in July 2023:
One of the sessions that caught my attention was “Academics for Students with Extensive Support Needs” by Russell Swinburne Romine and Meagan Karvonen of ATLAS, and Julie Durando of the National Center on Deaf-Blindness (NCDB) which included data on students who have significant cognitive disabilities and dual sensory loss. For more on their collaboration, see the NCDB website: https://www.nationaldb.org/info-center/students-significant-cognitive-disabilities-dual-sensory-loss/
